“Soul Fish”

Charleston, South Carolina’s own powerhouse variety party band, “Soul Fish,” has been performing for audiences all across the East Coast for over 20 years, and continues to keep their audiences captivated with their “all request” shows, extensive song list and wide range of song genres including rock, pop, beach and Motown, just to name a few. “Soul Fish” is a well-seasoned wedding and event party band who are also recognized for their professional work ethic, which has made them well known for being punctual, cordial and “dressed to impress” for all occasions. “Soul Fish” is the perfect addition to your next event, and are now available for all events including weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, reunions, anniversaries, festivals and many more.

History: “Soul Fish” is based out of Charleston, South Carolina, and has performed many special events for almost two decades. 2018-2023 highlights include: Performing as the backup band for “Mitchell Lee” of NBC’s hit TV show, “The Voice.” Performing as the backup band for the legendary “Motown” act, “The Crystals.” Performing as the support band for many well known top billing acts including: Cowboy Mouth, Sister Hazel, Eddie Bush, Charles Eston from the hit show “Outer Banks”, and many more. 2012-2017 highlights include: “Welcome Home Taiwan Navy Citadel Party, “The “PGA Tour” at Kiawah Island, SC, “Welcome Home for the 16th Airlift Squadron of the U.S Air Force,” “The 8th annual Mom’s Run- Ruth Rhoden Craven Foundation for Postpartum Depression Awareness,” “The Riverfront Park Grand Opening Celebration for the City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department,” “The Blessing of the Fleet”, “The Arthur Ravenel Bridge Run” from 2014-2018, “North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association Annual Convention and Expo,” “Folly Gras” at Folly Beach from 2012-2018 , and many more.

Performance Package: “Soul Fish” enjoys performing from Duo up to the 7 piece band with a horn section to accomodate your budget, and to create that perfect vision for your event. Our most popular reception package includes 7 band members (6 performers on stage, plus our sound engineer). This arrangement includes our band lineup listed below with our sound engineer providing complete audio production and lighting for the group. We can also add more players, or scale down players. We know how important this event is to you, so we take it very seriously, and are very easy to work with when it comes to your big day!

Morgan Sprott
Lead and background vocalist, drum kit

Originally from Greer, South Carolina, Morgan Sprott started performing live music with his family at the age of 11 when his parents, (both of whom were notable musicians themselves), discovered he had the ability to keep every audience engaged in every performance, despite being set up in the back. In 1988, Morgan started playing professionally when his first band, “Jack The Tripper,” played their very first show opening for “Hootie & The Blowfish,” in Columbia, SC. In 2001, Morgan joined the original group, “Trickknee” from Charleston, SC, who shared billing with many top acts including: Nickelback, Sister Hazel, Seven Mary Three, Crossfade, Nine Days and Dexter Freebish. From 2004 to present, Morgan has been the band leader for “Soul Fish,” who has performed many events for thousands of people all over the East Coast, and has also performed with many top billing acts including: “Motown” artists- “The Crystals”, and Mitchell Lee from NBC’s hit TV show, “The Voice.”

Bobby Alvarez
Lead and background vocalist, percussion, congas, bongos and more cowbell

Bobby Alvarez is a veteran of the Southeastern music scene. His vocal range and stage presence have captivated audiences for over three decades, and he continues to be a strong force in the live music industry to this day. Originally a “New Yorker,” at age 13, Roberto Alvarez joined the acapella group, “The Vilons,” who won first place for their performance on the “Wednesday Night Amateur Hour” at the legendary “Apollo Theater.” From there, he went on to join the U.S. Navy Band in 1974. From 1975 to 1980, he joined: “Salt & Pepper Band,” Kangaroo Club,” and “Para TI Latin Band” who shared billing with many top artists including: Rufus Thomas, Wilson Pickett and B.J. Thomas, just to name a few. From 1995 to 1998, Bobby joined the cast of the Broadway musical, “Serenade” at the Charleston Music Hall. In 2015, he performed with Charleston party band, “Plane Jane,” who was named #1 band in Charleston for 13 years, and who has shared billing with many artists including” Three Dog Night, Mother’s Finest and Kool & The Gang. In 2018, Bobby Alvarez received the award from “Lowcountry Music Hall Of Fame.”

David Collins
Lead and background vocalist, acoustic and electric guitars

Originally, born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, David Collins has been very well known for his melodic and soulful singing style that has brought him to the forefront of being one of the favorite lead vocalists in the Lowcountry for over two decades. His heavy influence by: The Beatles, Jack Johnson and John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chii Peppers is certainly evident in his performance. In the early 2000’s, he recorded a collection of original songs that are set to be released in 2024.

Bill Nance
Piano, organ and harmonica

A veteran of the Southeastern music scene, William Prohaska Nance has been hypnotizing audiences with his keyboard and organ skills for well over 25 years. Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, some of his biggest influences came from iconic performers including: Keith Emerson of “Emerson, Lake & Palmer,” Jon Lord of “Deep Purple,” and Rick Wakeman of “YES.” Bill has performed with many acts who have shared billing with legendary artists including: Charlie Daniels, David Allan Coe, “Average White Band,” Eddie Money, Robin Trower and “REO Speedwagon.” In 2022, Bill received the award from “Lowcountry Music Hall Of Fame.”

Rich Stoneking
Lead vocalist and bass guitar

Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Richard Stoneking has been very well-known for his “laid back” guitar style, and for his gritty, raw, soulful singing voice, which makes his live performances perfect for genres including: country, soul, R&B and hard rock. In the 1990’s, Rich released original music performed with his group, “Obscene,” then later formed his own group, “Stoneking.” For over 20 years now, Rich has performed with many great acts here in the Lowcountry including: Macy Mack, Weird Science and Danger County. Rich has also shared top billing with the legendary classic rock band, “Foghat.”

Jack Triebold
Lead vocalist, lead guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukulele

Jack Triebold began playing fingerstyle guitar at the tender age of 8, and got his start playing guitar in contemporary church services by the age of 11. His wide range of influences include: Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Jerry Reed, Prince, and Eddie Van Halen. In 2014, he performed as the support act for “Phillip Phillips” of “American Idol.” The following year, he received the award for 1st place in the “Annual Charleston County Library Youth Artist Event” commemorating the Holocaust. In 2019, he performed many special events, including being a guest artist on the PBS TV show: “Wood Songs,” where he shared the stage with legendary blues guitarist: Jimmie Vaughan. That same year, he was the scholarship award recipient to Rocky Mountain Guitar Camp in Colorado to study with: Brent Mason, Brooks Robertson and Jim Nichols. In 2020, he was the top 3 finalist in SC ETV/ PBS state-wide high school song writing contest. That same year, he appeared in a video performing “No “I” in Beer” with country recording artist: Brad Paisley. In 2021, he became the featured artist on Syracuse Guitar League. Jack has shared billing with various recording artists including: Tommy Emmanuel, John Knowles, Eddie Bush, Richard Smith and Brandon Lake. Now at age 22, Jack’s original music is currently being produced by Nashville recording artist: Tom Yankton, and will be released in the fall of 2023.
